About us
The family behind the Playhouse.

Our story
The room we couldn't find
We are a young Vernon family with two small children. Like a lot of parents here, we wanted a calm room where the kids could play and we could sit down with a real coffee. We looked for it. We couldn't find it.
Vernon had soft-play warehouses and it had coffee shops, but nothing in between. Nothing that felt like a home. So we built one. The café opened in May 2026, the first play café in the Vernon area.
The room is built the way a parent actually needs it to be. Real espresso for the grown-ups, wooden toys and low shelves for the little ones, and a space where a small child is safe to wander while you watch from a chair. No flashing lights, no carnival. Just a playroom that looks like a home.

MEET ÉLODIE
The little one behind the name
Élodie is our daughter, and she just turned three. The café carries her name because the whole idea started with her — with watching her play, and wanting a better room for her to do it in.
She is the reason the playhouses are low enough for a small hand to reach, the reason the toys are wooden, and the reason there is a quiet corner for the youngest guests. This is her playhouse, and you are welcome in it.

What matters to us
The small things, done well
A space made for families
Built by parents, for parents. Somewhere the little ones are safe to wander, and the grown-ups can actually sit and finish a coffee.
Kept clean, always
The playroom is cleaned frequently through the day. Wooden toys, soft surfaces, and a calm floor you would let your baby crawl on.
Giving back to our community
We are working on how the café can support local families and community groups. Stay tuned for our community efforts.
